More Trees for Chevy Chase Lake

One of the things we hear consistently from people is that they like the number of trees in Chevy Chase Lake. This true about the neighborhoods and trail, but the sentiment is odd given that the commercial areas are almost devoid of trees. Take a look at the aerial of the shopping center below. It’s a large swath of asphalt in an otherwise green area.
A recent article from our friends at the National Resources Defense Council goes into detail regarding the positive impact additional trees can have. As part of a redeveloped Chevy Chase Lake, certain tree canopy standards will have to be met, and as a result we will get significantly more trees than we currently have.
